archlinux python mind meld

I ran across the Python Philosophy maxims again the other day. As I reread them, they reminded me of the original, unspoken design goals of the Arch Linux distribution.

I know that many of the people involved in the early days of the Archlinux project were software developers and system administrators. A few of them had written a good deal of python code by that time. Perhaps the goals of simplicity and explicitness were a result of that lineage.

It is also noteworthy, that since the early days, python has made a consistent appearance in Archlinux based projects. The current Arch website was built with Django, powered by python. Some portions of the back-end infrastructure make heavy use of python. It seems python is everywhere in Archlinux.

It may have been an instance where I was seeing a corollary that did not exist, but I nevertheless found the potential relation interesting. Food for thought anyway.
